In response to the growing number of COVID-19 cases in India and concerns about new strains of coronavirus, the federal government decided to cancelled flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days.

The Department of Transport stated that due to the fact that an increasing number of Indian and Pakistani travelers entered Canada with COVID-19, all commercial and private passenger flights from these countries are cancelled as of 11:30 PM April 22, 2021 and will remain in full effect until May 21.

Passengers, who will come from India or Pakistan to Canada via a third country, must be able to demonstrate a negative COVID-19 test result from their point of departure before they can travel to Canada.

In turn, this policy may affect many international students and foreign workers from the above two countries.
