Statistics Canada revealed that cases of self-proclaimed loneliness among immigrants dramatically increased.

According to the report, loneliness did not appear to be alleviated by the length of stay in Canada, since both recent and long-term immigrants reported higher levels of loneliness compared with people born in Canada.

The report also urges the Government to take action and do more research to solve related problems, as in the next few years after the country recovers from the epidemic, the impact of loneliness on physical and mental health will still be an issue to society.
