On December 30, 2019, the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration published a news release reporting its new immigration achievements. As of December 27, 2019, the province has approved 2,780 applications which are 21% more than in 2018 and 300% more compared to 2013. 6,630 immigrants settled in Nova Scotia as of Oct. 31, which is 26.9% more compared to the same period in 2018. 68% of newcomers immigrated under the Provincial Nominee Program (3,165) and Atlantic Immigration Pilot (1,320). The retention rate of immigrants in Nova Scotia is 71%, which is the highest in Atlantic Canada
