Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has updated the processing times for the Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) applications under various streams. 

Based on statistics from all processing centers, the current average LMIA processing times decreased for the Global Talent Stream, agricultural streams, caregivers and low-wage stream, while increased for and the PR stream and high-wage stream:

  • Global Talent Stream - 8 business days (5 days less)
  • Agricultural stream - 13 business days (2 days less)
  • Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program - 7 business days (3 days less)
  • Permanent residence stream - 17 business days (1 day more)
  • In-home caregivers – 13 business days (4 days less)
  • High-wage stream - 33 business days (1 day more)
  • Low-wage stream - 29 business days (11 days less)
